Nowadays, youngest
generation will like iconic building more than history building because of it
unique style and look interesting. Developer will take more places to build up
iconic building for specific function only. To prevent develop jungle, they are
suggest to demolish old building and build new building. For this case,
actually it was great to have a new functional building compare than not really
functional building just for gallery and museum purpose. But for the
significant historical building like pyramid should be 100% preservation it.
Old building should be prehistoric or
preservation has become a new topic to discuss. Based on my research, most writers
were agreeing to preserving old building or turn it into innovative adaptive
building. For my opinion, historical building should be maintain and
preservation its original façade and this point was support by one of my
writer. In the article point out, old building represent cultural and practical

building will represent a place whether old building or new building.
Especially for the old building was already exist from the ancient time example
for the building at Rome and Egypt. When we mention about Egypt, then ours 1st
impression will be Pyramid and mummy. This is meant a historical building can

exists, it will attract people to visit it and pushed up the economy especially
hotel and restaurants, create job to local people, benefit to the folks who are
fascinated by history.
Beside on that, article also point out preservation
of historic building is a one-way street. These mean we are no more chance to
renovate and preservation this historical building once it is gone. Once a piece
of history is destroyed, it is lost forever. To destroy historical building and
replace by new high-rise or iconic building mostly is to fulfil the new era or
to settle the land-lacking problem for settlement. But in the process of
destroy old building actually is give harmful to surrounding environment and
also earth especially they use boom to bomb the building. Another from that,
the piling process for high-rise building also will crack the wall for nearby
houses. It was cause inconvenience cases to neighbour. Old buildings are
reminder of a city’s culture and complexity. It was a record of human
development, is a process. Why we want to destroy it and replace it? If we
facing of the land-lacking problem we could try to fully reuse the building
without destroy it. Historical building always can attract people with its
façade, material and texture. The historical building is always interesting
with its style.
Old
building actually is make sense for major certain store like bookstore,
restaurant, pubs, residential project like Singapore do (whole street façade
maintain as old façade but interior is a totally new technology residential
house). This actually is a great way to reuse the old building and this is also
could be save ours environment. This is prove that old building actually is can
be fully reuse without tear down an old building. A new town involves new
building and historical building would be work!
