IPOH JOURNAL

    In my course, we will out for traveling for every semester with classmate for design purpose. But in this semester we are out for DESIGN + EXPERIENCING CULTURE 2 subject. Before depart to Ipoh, we are request to do a presentation about Ipoh history, culture and also community aim to let us more understand about this place.
    In last semester, Penang was ours site visit. But in this semester,  lecture was choose Ipoh as ours location!  Actually we was grumble why choose Ipoh as ours site visit because in my impression, Ipoh was look like nothing attractive and boring! When after complete the presentation and we were realise we can try to explore this place and end of this trip we are totally enjoy and have fun in this semester site visit !!!^^
 

DAY 1 

In the 1st day, we need to wake up in the early morning and gather at UCSI with a huge luggage and a camera beg~ After all the member was reach and we start ours journey with school bus. All student was gather in school bus and lecture is go with theirs own transport.

After few hours, here is the 1st stop we reached--> Gopeng Herritage House.

 We actually very enjoy in this heritage house. This house actually look so small from the facade But after you went into the interior space, you actually will realize its actually quite large. Space in this Interior area is quite narrow especially we have so much people in this house. Although interior space is narrow but the long and height in this building will make me feel it actually is quite large space because can design in few room and living area.

Beside of that, you can find ad feel the 60-70 s moment in this house because of the area design, ancient accessories, staff, fitting, furniture and culture equipment.

Kitchen area was design at the central area, 

not like nowadays kitchen is design at the rear area

A small garden design at front of kitchen, ventilation is absolutely
enough in kitchen. All the best and bad smell can flow out
 easily because of that time still do not have cooking hood. 

                                       

Small cafe shop was design at the rear of building, next to kitchen.

 This cafe allowed visitor to have a seat and take a rest. Some ancient

staff as display 

The 2nd floor area, small gathering area design on the central, 

the front is staircase to 3rd floor beside is bedroom and another

one more room is located at the behind.

3rd floor is mainly for gathering purpose only, there are no any room

in this level but here can be resting area also.

After visit Gopeng Herritage House, Here is ours 2nd stop! That is visit to light industry shop and make ours own HANDMADE POTTERY ~~~The name of  light industry is LABU BULUH TIGA and located at Koperasi Industri Kampung, Tg. Bidara, Kg. Gajah

We experience make pottery with clay and how to control ours hand 
and energy to make a pottery. It was a fun experience in this place!
YOU CAN CREATE YOURS OWN STAFF!

After complete the shape of pottery, adding some texture on the 

pottery could make it look more interesting. We can design ours

own texture to create ours own STYLE.

After full day visit and finally we check in to ours sweet room! This hotel is situated in New Town Ipoh. This boutique is in a best location. Next road is KFC and beside is PIZZA HUT! We actually wont feel hungry in the midnight because we have so much food!

DESSERT TIME after dinner!!!! This dessert shop is located at 

the " Tong Shui Gai". This street is quite famous, until midnight 

there still got many people at here to having their dessert or chit

chat at here. This is ICE-CREAM ABC we order, the taste is not 

bad~but i still feel sweet for me, if less bit sweet will more tasty ;)

DAY 2

Basically this is an ASSIGNMENT DAY  :(   :(   :(   :(   :(  :(   :(   :(   :(   :(  :(   :(   :(   :(   :( 

In day 2, we have to take a video is about interview local person and ask them about the history of Ipoh. But we still have alot of fun in the progress works although we walk in a HOT SUNNY DAY!

Beside of that, we still need to take pic of the heritage building to do ours HISTORICAL FOOT TRAIL assignment ( HOW COME SO MANY ASSIGNMENT ??? WANNA CRAZY SOON !!!)

CONCUBINE LANE

 Famous street at Ipoh. Inside this alley, you can found some special gift.

Enjoy when looking those heritage building. There actually have a story
behind this lane. ( about rich guys like to keep theirs mistress in this area
because in night, this lane is very dark and guy can go in without realize
by other people)

After whole afternoon explore under the sun finally done ours

assignment information and research and have a break! 

 Its time to take a break!! WAHAHA~~ Fun activity in front of the
sanitary store although it just a quite simple of quote

Best Friend Forever argh~~~ This normally do by couple to lock

each other. BUT we also do it hope to lock ours friendship !

KINTA RIVER

Night at the KINTA RIVER~ We crazy, we play we enjoy at this place.

We actually play a lot of activities at here such as cycling.

DAY 3

The day we most expected for the whole trip!!!  LOST WORLD here we come~~~~~~~!!!!!!!!!!

Beside that, there have few board to describe about the progress
of tin mines progress to let people more understanding
about how is the tin mining come with.

Come back to New Town to have ours dinner. Today

is famous "nga choi gai" ( chicken rice) as dinner~

Its is absolutely delicious of this chicken rice! Gonna miss it badly :(

DAY 4

So fast here is the last day stay at Ipoh, We check out hotel in the early morning and depart to Old Town to have ours breakfast.

KELLIE CASTLE

Visit to KELLY CASTLE

In this building, many hole was design as ventilation purposed.
Explore brick is one of the design feature in this building. But to
me, this building is too large for only one family. The darkness
of some space is terrifying especially the wet and dark"wine storage"
( I am not upload the wine store image, please EXPLORE by yourselves )

Tin Dredge Heritage like a tin mines museum
The last activity for today, there are many tin mining staff and engine was demonstrate in this museum. Engine was show at the exterior area but the detail progress was exhibit at the interior area.

Finish ours journal for whole trip, all people have a sweet dream in the bus. My final conclusion for this place is " I WILL BACK TO IPOH BECAUSE OF THE FOOD!"
